While issuing a statement in reaction to the survey conducted by ABP-C-Voter with a focus on Punjab’s 2022 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the people of Punjab are angry over the non-fulfillment of promises made by Capt Amarinder Singh during the 2017 elections and would give a befitting reply in 2022 by forming AAP government in the State. The party states, “Impressed by the works done by Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government for the welfare of the people, natives of Punjab want to form AAP government in Punjab in order to develop the State as has been done by AAP in Delhi. “
In a statement issued from the party office on Saturday, AAP co-in charge, Punjab affairs, national spokesperson, and MLA from Delhi Raghav Chadha said that contemporary political leaders of Punjab have left no stone unturned to shatter the mission and vision of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the betterment of the Nation and State. As a part of the well-planned conspiracy, while the leaders filled their coffers, the youth of Punjab was got addicted to drugs. This is inconspicuous politics where the state did not progress, but the political leaders have become millionaires.
Criticizing the present Congress government, Raghav Chadha said that the Captain’s government had not fulfilled any of its promises in the last four years. He said that before the elections Capt. Amarinder Singh had taken an oath of Gutka Sahib and said that drug addiction would be eradicated in 4 weeks but Capt. Amarinder Singh has categorically backtracked from his statement. Apart from this, Captain had said that after the formation of the Congress party government in Punjab, all sorts of mafia will be wiped out, employment will be provided to every household, electricity prices shall be reduced, drugs will be eradicated and agreements with private power companies will be terminated, none of the promises that were made have been fulfilled. On the contrary, Capt. Amarinder Singh did not come out of his Royal Farmhouse at Siswan for the last four and a half years and continue to run his government from there.
MLA Chadha said, “Today, Aandata Kisan is sitting on the streets and is forced to commit suicide. He said that as of date, and agriculture dominant state is in such a state that numerous farmers are being forced to eat sulphas every day, but the tyrants in power care a least about it. He added that the youth of Punjab is unemployed and desperate and parents are sending their children abroad by mortgaging their homes and lands as there is no employment opportunity in the State. Politicians are concentrating on flourishing their own businesses instead of focusing on the welfare of the State. They have changed the definition of politics by making it a family affair. If one is a son or daughter of a great leader, his / her career is safe in the government, but ordinary children are of no value here. He asked, “Why can’t we give a good education to ordinary children here? Why is Punjab’s talent forced to wander abroad?
Raghav Chadha further said that the leaders who took votes by taking false oaths of Gutka Sahib to save Punjab were not ashamed at all. In Punjab, power has changed from time to time between different traditional parties, but the situation in Punjab has never changed. Punjab has tried everything, now the people of Punjab have made up their mind not to be deceived, not to let those who take false oaths enter the villages.
“This time the people of Punjab have made up their minds that once and for all they have to work together to make Punjab prosperous,” Chadha said. He exhorted the Punjabis to work together for building a new Punjab as envisioned by the martyrs of this great State. “
