Chandigarh, September 7:
Taking a leap forward towards imparting quality health services to people Mr. Om Prakash Soni, Minister for Medical Education and Research, Punjab and Mrs. Preneet Kaur, Member Parliament, Patiala will dedicate the newly constructed Cath Lab at Rajindra College, Patiala to people on September 14, 2021.
The setting up of this lab will be of great benefit to the people seeking treatment at Rajindra Medical College from Patiala district and adjoining areas.
The hi-tech lab will provide high quality treatment facilities to patients suffering from heart diseases at affordable rates including facilities like angiography, stents, permanent pacemaker and open heart surgery.
Mr. Soni also reviewed the progress of three new medical colleges being set up by the Medical Education Department here today and directed all the officers and concerned departments to complete all the works within the stipulated time.
He said that in the month of October Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh will lay the foundation stone of three more medical colleges to be set up in the state.
The Minister said that this will give the much needed fillip to medical education in the state.
In the meeting Principal Secretary Medical Education and Research Mr. Alok Shekhar, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Sujata Sharma, and officers from PWD (B&R), Health and Sanitation, Punjab Health System Corporation and Punjab Department of Architects were also present.
