The Annual Celebration of Van Mahotsav Day was met with glee at KBDAV-7, Chandigarh. Celebrated to commemorate the historic planting of a sapling by Amrit Kaur on 15th July 1950 at Rajghat, New Delhi, this day reaffirms the school’s espousal of all environment-friendly causes. Eco Club of the School took the onus and organized a plethora of exhilarating activities for the learners of classes VIII to XII on a virtual platform.
The activities designed for the learners were – ‘Autobiography of a Tree’, ‘2020 – Nature’s Healing Era’, ‘Think Green, Live Green – Poster Making Activity’, ‘Resume of a Tree’, ‘Greening Motherland – Video Making on the theme, How Earth is an important place to live’, ‘Because I Care – A Comic Strip’ and ‘Hugging a Tree’.
In the role-play and video-making activity, the learners very artistically combined eloquent language with equally eloquent delivery. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instil the value of social responsibility amongst students towards safeguarding trees and forest cover. The focus of the celebration was on building a personal connect between the students and trees through a process of experience, reflection, and creation, through various activities.
